Event Description:
Soraya Khaleeli, Social Service Worker, gave us an emotional and informative presentation on elder abuse. She shared her knowledge and personal experience working on support phone lines.
Soraya’s presentation focused on:
• Understanding what senior abuse is, and recognizing the different forms of senior abuse
• Recognizing ageism
• Avoiding isolation, inter-generational abuse
• Recognizing the warning signs of abuse
• Responding safely and supportively
• Being aware of resources
