OVERCOMING
OVERACHIEVING

SPEAKERS

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2022
AT 1PM EDT

Overcoming Overachieving was an event focused on the prevalence of overachieving amongst post-secondary students. Overachieving can be specifically detrimental as it can lead to procrastination and high burnout rates amongst students and professionals alike. Our three speakers shed light on what overachieving can look like, how it takes affect in our lives, and ultimately how to overcome it through self-compassion. The event was filled with interactive questions, a kahoot game, and of course an engaging Q&A/Panel Discussion!

Srinivas Arka answered:
– Is overachieving always a negative trait to possess?
– How can we use overachieving to our benefit?

Dr. Jade-Isis Lefebvre discussed:
– Performance and stress
– Perfectionism and overachieving
– Self-compassion and goal-setting strategies

Kasandra Skinner discussed:
– Her personal experience with overachieving
– How overachieving fuels avoidance
– The impact of self-worth being tied to accomplishments
