Topic: Aging Brain – What can happen to our brain as we age?
By Alzheimer Society of York Region.
What a wonderful turnout! We partnered with the City of Markham and Armadale Older Adult Club to hold the Positive Living – Aging Brain and Intuitive Meditation For Better Mental Health.
Our event was kicked off with introductions by Ranjiv Puri, President AOAC and Satya Arora, Secretary AOAC.
Stacey Mendonca, Public Education Coordinator for the Alzheimer Society of York Region, gave a presentation on the parts of the brain and what they do, the difference between Depression, Dementia, Delirium and how to keep a healthy brain.
Cindy Mankasingh, Certified Instructor from Centre for Conscious Awareness – Canada, gave a demonstration of Arka Dhyana Intuitive Meditation which is a method that can improve our mental health.
We concluded the event with light snacks and refreshments.
Special thanks to Bindi Patel, Community Program Supervisor – Recreation Services – City of Markham and Satya Arora for making this event possible.
Thank you so much to CCA-Canada for the presentation and meditation session yesterday. Stacey Mendonca from Alzheimer Society York Region was also fantastic. We got a very positive feedback from attendees. Thank you again and we look forward to having you teach meditation again in the future

“You cannot halt the natural physical process of ageing, but the youthful vibrancy within oneself never ages. When this feeling of youth is enhanced, it can often take nature by surprise with positive effects on the body.”
